RE: BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATION
Calling all current and former NATCO Committee Chairs and Workgroup Leaders! We want you!
NATCO’s Nominations and Elections Committee is conducting the Call for Nominations to the 2017-2018 Board of Directors slate. We encourage you to read this information carefully and consider nominating yourself or a colleague. We wish to offer the membership more than one candidate for each office; this is dependent upon receiving a sufficient number of nominations from YOU, our members.
The positions that will be elected by the membership in 2017 are: President-Elect, Treasurer and three Councilors-at-Large. The individuals elected for the offices of Treasurer and Councilor-at-Large will each serve a two-year term. The individual elected for the office of President-Elect will serve a three-year term, which includes a one-year term as President-Elect, succeeding to a one-year term as President, followed by a one-year term as Immediate Past President.
The candidate criteria for each office are based on the current Bylaws. The complete bylaws and candidate criteria are available on the NATCO website at: http://www.natco1.org/About-Us/article-V.asp
The 2017-2018 election of Board of Directors will be conducted electronically. In April 2017, all NATCO members in good standing will receive an E-mail containing voting instructions and a link to the candidate information and ballot.
Once the slate has been confirmed, an electronic voting system will be used to collect the membership votes. NATCO members who do not have an E-mail address on file with the Executive Office will receive either 1) a postcard notification with instructions on how to access the electronic voting process, or 2) a printed version of the packet. Therefore, it is very important that the Executive Office has your correct E-mail address. You can update your contact information by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please thoroughly review the criteria to acquaint yourself with each position. This information will assist you in deciding whether or not to run for a Board position. You can nominate yourself or another NATCO member, with that member’s permission, for a Board of Directors position by completing the electronic submission form and Disclosure of Relationships form at the link below. If you are nominating someone else, you will need a copy of his/her CV to complete the application requirements.
All recommendations MUST BE RECEIVED BY March 6, 2017 to be considered part of the candidate slate. Once a final slate has been confirmed, additional information will be requested for the final candidate ballot, including a digital photograph.
Nominations should be submitted to the NATCO Executive Office at the following link
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9LWXC75. The nominee will receive E-mail acknowledgement of receipt of the nomination form within two business days. If such acknowledgement is not received within that time frame, please contact Donna Dickt, NATCO Executive Director, at 703-483-9817. The slate of candidates will be compiled by the Nominations and Elections Committee and approved by the Board of Directors before the voting begins.
Serving on the NATCO Board…Is it fun? Yes. Is it work? Yes. Is it rewarding? Yes. Would we do it again? Absolutely! We challenge you to get involved and send in your nomination!
